Our Brick Specials are manufactured at our Stoneyford Special Bricks facility, we offer a range of British Standard, non-standard and tailor-made bricks that is one of the most comprehensive ranges in the UK & Ireland.
Brick & Pistol
These bricks are used to maintain the brick coursing where shelf angles are introduced, creating external returns for brick slip cladding systems and creating brick clad lintels and soffit returns when adhered to structural support elements.
Flat Arch Bricks
Arch or tapered bricks are used to form semi-circular, bullseye, segmental or other forms of decorative arch units to several different radii specified in the standard. Image shows a flat arch giving greater detail to windows.
Semi-Circular Arch Bricks
Our pre-packaged arch sets make the construction of traditional voussoir-style window and door arches simple and accurate. Image shows semi-circular arches with various details we recently completed.
Parabolic Arch Bricks
These bricks are typically used to provide structural
stability in curved elements like what you see on the
right. This is a featured arch giving creative detail to
entrance arches.
Double Semi Circular Arch Design
We have now enhanced our facility by manufacturing a wide choice of classic arch sets that can usually be delivered directly to site. On the left, you see double semi-circular arches which allow for creative window design.
Dogleg Bricks
We stock a large range of special shaped bricks that turn brickwork through angles; and cant bricks that create chamfered vertical and horizontal features. The image on left shows a close-up view of the cut and bonded internal dogleg.
Bay Window Design
The skewback arch on the right which was designed and supported by a proprietary standard lintel. This example also shows a complete bay window with internal and external cut and bonded dog legs
Plinth Stretchers
Plinth specials are often used to create a splay detail at the base of a building. They are also increasingly being used for corbel detailing and window surround details in association with angle and cant specials. Our image shows plinth stretchers allowing for a splay effect in brickwork.
Radial Brick
Radial specials are primarily used to form circular detail brickwork in plan, without having tapered joints. They also give a true, concise curve to brickwork without the unattractive stepping that would otherwise be seen if standard facing bricks were used
Chimney
These bricks are increasingly being used for chimney detailing. We stock a large range that can cater to many different elegant designs for chimneys. Image shows a chimney built with single cants, cant stops, plinths and plinth returns.
